Microsoft Releases May 2025 Security Updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10

The May 2025 security updates for Windows 11 and Windows 10 operating systems have been released by Microsoft. These new updates address security issues and will be bringing the necessary improvements.

Windows 11 – May 2025 Security Updates
For version 24H2 (KB5058411), the update will be fixing the issue where microphone audio mutes unexpectedly as well as the issue with the eye controller app not launching. Image Search (v1.7.824.0), Content Extraction (v1.7.824.0), and Semantic Analysis (v1.7.824.0) AI components have been updated. Quality updates have also been brought to the Windows 11 servicing stack too.
For versions 23H2 and 22H2 (KB5058405), the update adds improvements to SBAT (Secure Boot Advanced Targeting) for Linux systems detection. It also addresses the issue with updating Windows 11 version 24H2 via WSUS (Windows Server Update Services). Moreover, quality updates for Windows 11 servicing stack is also a part of it.
Windows 10 – May 2025 Security Updates
For versions 22H2 and 21H2 (KB5058379), version 1809 (KB5058392), version 1607 (KB5058383), and version 1507 (KB5058387), the latest security updates bring SBAT (Secure Boot Advanced Targeting) improvement which will help in detecting Linux systems. Additionally, the version 1809 also brings updates to Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist (DriverSiPolicy.p7b) and addresses a GRFX-Graphics issue causing error message on Blue screen mostly in cases that are linked to the recent GDI updates with CHS GB18030-2022 fonts. Also to add, in versions 22H2, 21HS, and 1809, the latest servicing stack update (SSU) will also be brought, however also note that certain issues (Citrix) have been identified in these Windows 10 versions too.
